If you’re passionate about mental health, we invite you to apply as a Board Member of Just Us.

As a vital member of the Board of Directors for Just Us, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization to achieve its mission and vision. Your commitment to mental health and philanthropy will contribute to the success of our counselling programs, ensuring that individuals facing mental health challenges have access to high-quality, affordable support. 

Responsibilities

  1. Actively participate in board meetings, sharing insights, and contributing to discussions on organizational policies, finances, and overall governance. Stay informed about committee matters, prepare well for meetings, and review and comment on minutes and reports.

  2. Actively participate in at least one sub-committee (finance, advocacy and communications, fundraising).

  3. Engage in fundraising activities to support the financial sustainability of the organization.

  4. Contribute to the development and execution of fundraising strategies, including donor cultivation, grant applications, and special events.

  5. Collaborate with fellow board members to develop and review the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the mission and long-term goals.

  6. Advocate for mental health awareness and the importance of accessible counselling services within the community.

  7. Represent the organization at public events, fostering partnerships and collaborations with other community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for mental health advocacy and the mission of Just Us; We All Struggle Inc.

  • Previous board or leadership experience in the nonprofit sector

  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and experience in donor cultivation 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders


Term: Board members serve a 2-year term, with the option for reappointment.

Time Commitment: Board meetings are held quarterly. Additional time is required for committee work, fundraising events, and strategic planning.
